Senior Client Manager

The Role

As Senior Client Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing compliance work while also focusing heavily on advisory services. You’ll act as a trusted partner to your clients, identifying opportunities for growth, supporting decision-making, and helping them navigate challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring accounts, tax returns, and other compliance work are delivered on time and to a high standard.
• Leading on advisory assignments, including business structuring, tax planning, cash flow forecasting, and strategic decision support.
• Building and maintaining long-term client relationships, acting as their go-to advisor.
• Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior staff members.
• Liaising with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
• Supporting Partners with business development and practice growth initiatives.
• Staying up to date with changes in legislation and ensuring clients are advised accordingly.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant practice experience.
• Have strong technical knowledge of accounts and tax, with a proven track record in client advisory work.
• Ideally bring 15–20 years’ experience in practice (though this is not essential).
• Be confident managing a varied portfolio of clients, including SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
• Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Be proactive, commercially minded, and able to identify opportunities to add value.
• Enjoy mentoring and developing junior staff.
