This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Manager (VAT & Indirect Tax) to join a respected and expanding accountancy and advisory firm in Newcastle. You’ll manage a varied portfolio of clients, deliver expert VAT advice, and work on complex, high-value projects alongside a collaborative national tax team.
The Role
As Tax Manager (VAT & Indirect Tax), you’ll provide high-quality technical advice and compliance support to clients across a range of industries. You’ll manage day-to-day client relationships, lead advisory assignments, and play an important role in supporting the growth of the firm’s VAT and Indirect Tax offering across the North East.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of VAT and indirect tax clients, ensuring excellent service delivery
- Providing technical VAT advice on a range of matters including land and property transactions, cross-border trade, and partial exemption
- Leading and supporting advisory projects including acquisitions, restructures, and due diligence work
- Reviewing VAT compliance and helping clients manage VAT risk and efficiency
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and handling enquiries or disputes
- Building and maintaining trusted client relationships, offering clear and commercial advice
- Assisting in the development and training of junior team members
- Collaborating with other teams and departments across the firm to identify cross-service opportunities
