Senior Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established and growing practice in Nottingham. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services to a broad and varied client base.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll take ownership of a client portfolio and oversee all aspects of accounts preparation, tax compliance, and advisory support. You’ll also play an important role in mentoring junior team members and helping drive efficiency and quality across the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations and VAT returns
- Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance and feedback
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports for clients across multiple sectors
- Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact and building trusted relationships
- Supporting clients with business planning, budgeting, and ad hoc financial advice
- Liaising with HMRC and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Assisting with audits where required and supporting senior colleagues on complex assignments
- Keeping up to date with developments in accounting and tax standards
