Senior Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established and professional firm based in Reading. You’ll work closely with a diverse client base, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services in a collaborative environment.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients and overseeing a variety of assignments from start to finish. You’ll also provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to the continued success of the firm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations and VAT returns
- Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by junior staff
- Producing management accounts and offering insights to support client decision-making
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building strong professional relationships
- Supporting clients with ad hoc queries and business advice
- Liaising with HMRC and other external bodies as needed
- Assisting with workflow management and helping to improve processes within the team
- Keeping up to date with accounting standards and tax legislation
