Senior Accountant

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a growing and well-established accountancy practice in Lewes. You’ll work closely with a diverse client base, gaining exposure to a wide range of industries and contributing to the firm’s continued success.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of clients and deliver a first-class service across accounting, tax, and business advisory functions. You’ll also play a key role in supporting junior colleagues and helping shape client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations and VAT returns
- Producing management accounts and assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing constructive feedback
- Liaising directly with clients to discuss financial results and offer practical advice
- Ensuring all work complies with current accounting and tax regulations
- Assisting with process improvements and supporting the wider team on ad-hoc projects
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
