The Role
As Audit Director, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services and advancing the department’s strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and overseeing audit engagements from planning through to completion
- Acting as a senior point of contact for key clients across a variety of sectors
- Reviewing audit work to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with standards
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing managers, seniors, and trainees
- Overseeing departmental workflow, resourcing, and performance
- Supporting business development, attending networking events, and contributing to tenders
- Driving continuous improvement in audit methodology and quality processes
- Working closely with senior leadership on audit strategy and firmwide initiatives

About You
You’ll be a confident and accomplished audit professional with strong technical capability and proven leadership skills.
You will:
- Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive practice experience
- Have a track record of managing complex audit engagements
- Possess strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and auditing standards
- Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring ability
- Be commercially aware with the confidence to advise clients at senior level
- Bring the organisational skills needed to manage multiple deadlines and team members
- Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to the continued success of the audit function
