This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax Manager to join a dynamic practice in Manchester. You’ll work closely with senior leaders on complex compliance and advisory projects while mentoring junior colleagues and building lasting client relationships.

The Role

As Tax Manager, you’ll be an integral part of the firm’s experienced tax team, supporting directors and senior managers in delivering high-quality services across a diverse portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working on compliance for larger and more complex clients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Delivering tax advisory services to business owners, including tax planning, acquisitions and disposals, share schemes, reorganisations, employee ownership trusts, and remuneration planning.
• Supporting clients with corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax planning.
• Managing HMRC enquiries and investigations, reviewing advice from junior staff, and conducting technical research.
• Providing technical support to a network of accountants within the firm’s group.
• Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior members of the tax team.
• Building trusted client relationships, ensuring queries are handled effectively and opportunities for added value are identified.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Be ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in tax practice.
• Have strong experience advising owner-managed businesses on a wide range of tax matters.
• Possess solid technical knowledge in corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax.
• Ideally have some exposure to VAT (though this is not essential).
• Be proactive, organised, and motivated, with a problem-solving mindset.
• Be confident communicating with clients and colleagues, with strong relationship-building skills.
