We’re working with a respected and forward-thinking accountancy firm in Ilford to recruit an experienced and driven Tax Manager to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident tax professional with experience across both personal and corporate tax to manage a broad client portfolio—including business owners, directors, high-net-worth individuals, and SMEs—while also contributing to advisory projects, team leadership, and business development initiatives.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, providing innovative tax planning solutions and helping clients navigate the evolving tax landscape. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across personal and corporate tax

• Provide expert technical advice across income tax, CGT, IHT, corporation tax, and R&D incentives

• Oversee preparation and review of corporation tax returns and related filings

• Lead on tax planning projects to help clients minimise liabilities and optimise efficiency

• Advise on R&D claims, ensuring compliance and robust supporting documentation

• Act as the key point of contact for clients, building long-term, trusted relationships

• Undertake detailed research into complex tax matters and provide concise recommendations

• Supervise, coach and review work from junior team members

• Ensure departmental workflow is managed effectively, meeting all internal and statutory deadlines

• Contribute to business development by identifying and pursuing new client opportunities

• Stay up to date with tax legislation, sharing knowledge and updates across the team

What We’re Looking For

• CTA qualified or qualified by experience in UK tax

• Solid technical knowledge of personal and corporate tax, CGT, IHT, and R&D incentives

• Experience managing a portfolio of OMB and HNW clients

• Strong advisory experience and confidence delivering practical, tailored solutions

• Proven track record in mentoring or supervising tax staff

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-first approach

• A proactive, commercially aware mindset with strong organisational skills

• Confident managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
