Senior Accountants

Senior Accountants are employed within accountancy firms otherwise known as public practices or accountancy practices.

Senior Accountants are typically ACCA, ACA or CA qualified or qualified by experience in that they have no formal accountancy qualification but do have the practical experience to undertake the job of a Senior Accountant.

Some Senior Accountants complete the AAT examinations before progressing onto their ACCA, ACA or CA professional accountancy exams. Whilst it is clearly subjective some accountancy firms believe that holding the AAT qualification ensures an accountant has a solid foundation to their general accounting skills.

At Public Practice Recruitment Ltd we can help advise accountants on the employment options available to them in relation to the accountancy qualifications they hold.

Senior Accountants will, in most cases, undertake a wide range of general accountancy work including accounts preparation; reviewing statutory accounts prepared by less experienced accountants, external audit, VAT returns, Bookkeeping, Tax computations (both personal tax and corporate tax), ad-hoc accounting duties and generally supporting Accountancy Managers/Client Managers and Partners.

In addition, they may also manage their own client portfolio potentially consisting of Limited Companies, Sole traders, Limited Liability Partnerships, Charities, Not for Profit Organisations, Academies, High Net Worth Individuals, Owner Manager Businesses etc.

At Public Practice Recruitment Ltd we work with accountancy firms of all sizes UK-wide to assist them in the recruitment of Senior Accountants.
