This is an exciting opportunity for a Tax Senior to join a well-established and progressive practice in Manchester. You’ll work with a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of sectors, handling both compliance and advisory work, while developing your technical knowledge and professional confidence.
The Role
As Tax Senior, you’ll play a key role within the tax team, supporting managers and partners in delivering accurate and efficient tax compliance and advisory services. You’ll have the opportunity to work across personal and corporate tax, providing variety and challenge while developing strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns for a range of clients
- Managing your own portfolio and ensuring all tax filings are completed accurately and on time
- Assisting with tax planning projects, such as remuneration planning, business restructuring, and succession planning
- Supporting with the preparation of P11Ds, PAYE settlements, and other compliance submissions
- Liaising directly with clients to gather information, answer queries, and provide clear and timely advice
- Assisting senior team members with tax advisory assignments and research
- Maintaining strong technical knowledge and keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation
- Supporting junior colleagues through training and mentoring where appropriate
About You
The successful candidate will be a proactive and client-focused tax professional who enjoys variety and collaboration.
You will:
- Be ATT or CTA qualified (or part-qualified) or qualified by experience
- Have experience working in a practice environment within a tax role
- Possess a sound understanding of both personal and corporate tax compliance
- Have excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple assignments
- Be confident using tax software and cloud-based systems
- Be a team player who takes pride in delivering a high-quality service to clients
