An established and expanding accountancy practice in Leicester is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting a growing client portfolio while contributing to the continued development of a progressive, people-focused firm.
The practice prides itself on building strong, long-lasting client relationships and offering a truly personal service. As Senior Accountant, you’ll be trusted to manage your own portfolio, act as a first point of contact for clients, and support the development of junior team members.
The Role
As a Senior Accountant, your role will be varied and client-facing, giving you exposure to a broad range of work. Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for a diverse portfolio of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Producing and reviewing VAT returns and management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing day-to-day support and developing trusted, long-term relationships.
- Advising clients on accounting systems and processes, including cloud-based platforms such as Xero, to improve efficiency.
- Assisting with tax compliance and spotting opportunities for personal and corporate tax planning.
- Supervising, supporting, and reviewing the work of more junior colleagues, helping with their training and development.
- Playing an active role in the firm’s growth by identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a confident and personable accountant, capable of working independently and managing client relationships with ease.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Experience working in an accountancy practice is essential.
- Solid technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and management accounts.
- Knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks) would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters clearly to clients.
- A proactive, client-focused approach with the drive to contribute to a growing firm.
