2022 so far is showing record increases in rates of pay for accountants up and down the country.

What’s driving this huge increase in pay for accountants?
Well this year has seen the perfect storm. There’s a skills gap in the market which means that qualified accountancy talent is hard to come by, particularly in the specialist field of audit.
Add this to the cost of living crisis and rising inflation and you find yourself in a recruitment market where candidates are in the driving seat and if they possess the skills, experience and qualifications that our clients are looking for, they are able to demand salaries way beyond their own (and often our) expectations.
