This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax Senior to join a growing accountancy practice in Stockport. You’ll be part of an experienced tax team providing high-quality compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
The Role
As Tax Senior, you’ll play an important role in managing your own portfolio of clients, ensuring their tax affairs are handled efficiently and accurately. You’ll support senior colleagues with advisory projects and have opportunities to expand your technical expertise and client management skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns
- Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance deadlines are m
- Assisting with tax planning and advisory projects, including business restructures, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax matters
- Liaising directly with clients to provide advice and resolve queries
- Supporting with HMRC enquiries and correspondence
- Assisting in training and supporting junior team members
- Keeping up to date with tax legislation changes and sharing knowledge across the team
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately, on time, and in line with professional standards
About You
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and detail-oriented tax professional who enjoys client contact and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
You will:
- Be ATT or CTA qualified (or part-qualified) or qualified by experience
- Have previous experience in a practice environment within a tax role
- Possess strong technical knowledge of both personal and corporate tax compliance
- Have excellent communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
- Be highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Be proactive and eager to expand your technical and advisory skills
- Be a team player with a positive attitude and a strong focus on quality
Experience with cloud-based tax and accounting software would be an advantage.
