This is a rare opportunity for a Tax Partner / Head of Tax to join a modern, ambitious professional services group in Birmingham. The role is fundamentally about leadership, coordination and growth — supporting an experienced specialist tax team spread across the UK, setting direction, and increasing revenue through both internal collaboration and external business development.
You’ll work closely with senior advisory leaders to expand the firm’s tax footprint, strengthen cross-service proposition delivery, and support clients at the highest level.
The Role
As Tax Partner / Head of Tax, you will be responsible for the strategic development and performance of the tax function, working across the wider business to drive opportunity and results.
- Owning and delivering the overall tax strategy in line with the firm’s growth objectives
- Coordinating and supporting a specialist tax team across multiple locations (without day-to-day line management responsibility)
- Driving revenue growth through internal collaboration and external business development
- Working closely with restructuring and wider advisory teams to deliver joined-up, multi-disciplinary solutions for clients
- Identifying new ways to support clients and colleagues with tax-led and advisory-led services
- Shaping resourcing, structure and future evolution of the tax offering
- Championing technical excellence, best practice and knowledge-sharing within the tax team
- Acting as a senior adviser on complex corporate and transactional tax matters
- Representing the tax function within the leadership group and in external networks, events and markets
- Supporting Partners and senior managers with tax strategy, pricing, risk and commercial decisions
