Tax Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mixed Tax Manager to join a modern professional services firm in Aberdeen. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, oversee both compliance and advisory work, and play a key role in developing the firm’s growing tax team.
The Role
As Mixed Tax Manager, you’ll lead a mixed portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of accurate compliance services and providing strategic tax advice across a variety of industries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of corporate, personal and partnership clients
- Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns and computations
- Delivering advisory services covering CGT, succession planning and remuneration
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and advising clients accordingly
- Leading and mentoring junior team members to ensure quality delivery
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and managing correspondence
- Supporting senior leadership with business development and technical projects
About You
You’ll be a technically strong and commercially aware tax professional who enjoys variety and building client relationships.
You will:
- Be CTA, ATT, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in practice, ideally within a mixed tax role
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of UK tax compliance and advisory
- Be confident managing your own portfolio and working to deadlines
- Possess excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Be proactive, detail-oriented and able to mentor junior team members
- Show commercial awareness with the ability to spot growth opportunities
