This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Manager (VAT & Indirect Tax) to join a well-respected accountancy and advisory firm in Leeds. You’ll manage a varied portfolio of clients, deliver technical VAT advice, and play an integral role in the firm’s expanding indirect tax function.
The Role
As Tax Manager (VAT & Indirect Tax), you’ll provide both technical and strategic support to a wide range of clients. You’ll manage compliance and advisory work, ensuring clients receive practical, commercial VAT solutions. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll help strengthen and grow the firm’s VAT and Indirect Tax capability across Yorkshire and beyond.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing your own portfolio of VAT and Indirect Tax clients across multiple sectors
- Providing expert VAT advice on issues such as land and property transactions, partial exemption, and international trade
- Leading advisory projects including acquisitions, restructures, due diligence, and cross-border VAT work
- Reviewing VAT compliance, advising on risk management, and ensuring compliance with current legislation
- Liaising directly with HMRC on behalf of clients and managing enquiries
- Building strong and lasting relationships with clients and internal teams
- Supporting and developing junior members of the tax team
- Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to firmwide growth initiatives
