Client Manager Role Overview
- Manage a portfolio of clients including SMEs, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Act as the main point of contact, building strong long-term client relationships
- Prepare and review management accounts, VAT returns and statutory accounts
- Oversee corporation tax work and ensure compliance deadlines are met
- Lead client meetings and provide commercial and financial advice
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide feedback
- Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning with clients
- Contribute to onboarding new clients and identifying additional service opportunities
Client Manager Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards (FRS102)
- Experience managing a client portfolio
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
- Familiarity with Xero, IRIS and Excel is advantageous
