Audit Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Audit Manager to join a well-established firm in Hull. You’ll take responsibility for managing a diverse audit portfolio, leading assignments, and guiding the next generation of talent within the firm.
The Role
As Audit Manager, you’ll oversee a variety of audit engagements and play a key part in the ongoing development of the audit team.
- Managing a varied portfolio of audit clients across multiple sectors
- Leading and reviewing audit assignments from planning to completion
- Allocating work, supervising teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, providing trustworthy guidance and commercial insight
- Reviewing statutory accounts and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Supporting partners with workflow planning, team resourcing and departmental strategy
- Coaching, mentoring and developing junior staff to support their technical and professional growth
- Identifying opportunities to enhance client relationships and support business development
This role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to influence how the audit department evolves.
About You
You’ll be a confident and technically strong audit professional who thrives in a leadership position.
You will:
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Have significant experience managing audit assignments within a UK accountancy practice
- Possess excellent technical knowledge of auditing standards, FRS 102 and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Be confident managing your own portfolio and prioritising deadlines
- Have exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities
- Be commercially aware with a proactive and solution-driven approach
- Enjoy collaborating with colleagues and contributing to firm-wide improvement initiatives
Experience with cloud-based audit software is advantageous.
