This is a fantastic opportunity for an Audit Senior to join a respected and expanding professional services practice in Derry. You’ll take the lead on audit assignments, support a diverse client base, and play an important role in mentoring junior colleagues — all within a supportive, progressive environment that encourages growth and innovation.
The Role
As Audit Senior, you’ll be responsible for managing audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading statutory audits for a range of clients, including limited companies, charities, and corporate groups
- Managing on-site audit teams and reviewing the work of junior staff
- Preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS
- Communicating effectively with clients to build relationships and resolve queries
- Identifying areas of improvement and providing practical business recommendations
- Supporting managers and partners with ad-hoc projects and technical queries
- Ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of work
About You
You’ll be an organised, confident, and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a client-facing role and enjoys mentoring others.
You will:
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or nearly qualified)
- Have previous experience in external audit within a UK or Irish accountancy practice
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of auditing standards and accounting frameworks
- Be confident leading audits and supervising junior colleagues
- Have strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Be proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple assignments
- Work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team
