Are you an experienced auditor looking to take the next step in your career?
Do you want to join a long-established firm with a strong reputation for quality, where you’ll work closely with clients, gain exposure to complex assignments, and develop your leadership skills in a supportive environment?
This is an exciting opportunity for an Audit Senior to join a respected and growing practice in Loughborough. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and assurance services, supporting a diverse client base, and mentoring junior colleagues as part of a friendly, professional team.
The Firm
This well-established practice has a long-standing reputation for providing high-quality audit, accounts, tax, and advisory services to clients across Leicestershire and beyond. Their client portfolio ranges from small owner-managed businesses to larger corporate entities, not-for-profit organisations, and professional practices.
The firm is proud of its approachable and collaborative culture — where people are genuinely valued, communication is open, and teamwork is at the heart of everything they do. They invest heavily in training and professional development, ensuring their team members continue to grow both technically and personally.
The Role
As Audit Senior, you’ll take a leading role in planning, executing, and finalising audits across a wide range of sectors. You’ll manage day-to-day client relationships, supervise junior staff, and contribute to the delivery of the firm’s audit strategy.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading audits from initial planning to completion, including scoping, risk assessment, and testing.
- Performing substantive and analytical testing procedures in line with professional standards.
- Preparing audit documentation and ensuring compliance with ISAs and UK GAAP.
- Reviewing financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Supervising, reviewing, and providing feedback to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients during audits, maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Identifying and communicating audit findings, issues, and recommendations to managers and partners.
- Assisting managers and partners with technical queries and more complex engagements.
- Supporting the development of internal processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contributing to accounts preparation and other ad hoc assignments where required.
You’ll be working with clients across a wide variety of sectors, including manufacturing, professional services, charities, technology, and retail, providing excellent variety and technical challenge.

The successful candidate will be a technically strong, personable auditor who enjoys working closely with clients and mentoring others.
You will:
- Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or finalist) with at least 3–5 years’ experience in practice.
- Have a strong background in external audit, including planning and leading audits for SMEs and mid-sized businesses.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards (ISA).
- Be comfortable managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Have experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior colleagues.
- Be organised, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a proactive and professional approach.
- Enjoy being part of a close-knit team that values collaboration, quality, and client service.
