Audit Senior

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Audit Senior to join a growing firm in Leicester. You’ll be responsible for leading audit assignments, developing client relationships, and supporting the wider audit team in delivering an exceptional service.
The Role
As Audit Senior, you’ll take ownership of audits from planning through to completion, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for your clients. You’ll work closely with managers and partners while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the overall success of the audit department.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, leading, and completing statutory audit assignments across a broad range of industries.
- Performing risk assessments, substantive and analytical testing, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards.
- Preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and other regulatory frameworks.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout the audit process, managing expectations, and providing updates.
- Supervising, reviewing, and supporting the work of junior auditors, providing guidance and feedback.
- Identifying audit findings and making practical recommendations to clients.
- Assisting with ad hoc assignments, such as internal controls reviews and technical research.
- Liaising with managers and partners on complex technical matters.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of audit procedures and quality standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a technically strong auditor who enjoys client interaction, team leadership, and professional challenge.
You will:
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist) with solid audit experience gained in practice.
- Have experience leading audits for SMEs and larger owner-managed businesses.
- Possess a sound understanding of UK GAAP, auditing standards (ISA), and relevant compliance requirements.
- Be confident managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Be detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in your approach.
- Enjoy mentoring and supporting junior team members.
