The Role

As Audit Director, you will take overall responsibility for leading the audit function in Derby, working closely with partners to drive quality, efficiency, and growth. This is both a leadership and client-facing role, offering scope to make a real impact on the direction of the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the audit department, managing a portfolio of significant clients across diverse industries.
• Overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of audits in line with professional standards.
• Acting as the senior point of contact for key clients, providing clear, strategic advice.
• Driving business development and contributing to the growth strategy of the firm.
• Managing, mentoring, and developing audit staff, ensuring technical excellence and high levels of client service.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be:

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with extensive post-qualification experience.
• A proven audit leader, ideally with experience gained at senior manager or director level in practice.
• Technically strong with excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards.
• Commercially astute, with a strong track record of business development and client relationship management.
• A natural leader, capable of inspiring and developing a high-performing team.
• Ambitious, strategic, and confident in contributing at board level.
