The Audit & Accounts Senior Manager will be employed in an Audit & Accounts Department and will either lead the department or be one of several Audit & Accounts Senior Managers within the department. 

Typically reporting into an Audit & Accounts Partner the Audit & Accounts Senior Manager will perform the job of a conduit between the audit & accounts team, Audit & Accounts Partner and client.  To that end the Audit & Accounts Senior Managers job will encompass technical audit & accounts work, management of audit & accounts accountants and working directly with the client.

Being ACA, ACCA or CA qualified an Audit & Accounts Senior Manager will be highly experienced in both the planning and completion of audits and will invariably have many years audit & accounts experience gained within accountancy firms.

The Audit & Accounts Senior Managers job holds a considerable amount of responsibility as an external auditor performs an audit, in accordance with specific laws or rules, of the financial statements of a company, government entity, other legal entity, or organization, and is independent of the entity being audited. Users of these entities’ financial information, such as investors, government agencies, and the general public, rely on the external auditor to present an unbiased and independent audit report.

The Audit & Accounts Senior Managers team is likely to consist of Audit & Accounts Senior Accountants, Audit & Accounts Semi Seniors and Audit & Accounts Trainees. Some of the team are likely to be ACCA, ACA or CA qualified with the others being part qualified and studying towards their professional accountancy exams.

Overseeing the training and development of the audit & accounts team is another responsibility of the Audit & Accounts Senior Manager in conjunction with Human Resources, if applicable, and the accountancy firms Partners.
