Could you be our next 5* candidate?

What do we mean by a 5* candidate?

These accountants are the cream of the crop at executive level. They have enjoyed progressive careers to date and will be ready to explore job opportunities at Senior Manager level and above. So we’re talking about Senior Managers, Directors, Partner Designates and Partners.

How do we recognise a 5* candidate?

If you’re a 5* candidate we’ll know as soon as we meet you. We meet enough of them! Your CV will demonstrate that you’ve stepped up the rungs of the professional ladder quickly. You are hungry for success and you are ready to find the rewards and responsibility that you deserve.

Why do we manage 5* candidates differently?

With 5* candidates, it’s not a case of trawling our extensive database of recruiting clients in their area. Sometimes when we meet one, we already know about the perfect role for them and can set to work straight away in setting up an interview for that potential job match. But, more often than not, finding the right roles for these clients is a long game. Often, jobs at this level are not advertised freely so we become aware of them during the extensive relationship building that we undertake with the clients who trust as as their preferred recruitment partner.

So, by ensuring that our 5* candidates are always at the forefront of our minds, discussed twice weekly in full team meetings, we ensure that when the right opportunities arise, we’re perfectly poised to make an introduction and to support our 5* candidates to secure the roles and rewards that their exceptional professional status deserves.

Over time, as we’ve been working with these outstanding, executive level candidates, we’ve made some interesting observations that we thought we’d share with you today.

1. Many of these candidates are working at firms where they have been internally promoted, often several times, and though they hold very senior titles, their pay scales are woefully lacking compared to the market rate. Internal promotions generally fail to keep up with the competitive salaries that firms offer to bring in external talent, and as such, these candidates are often blown away by the rewards we’re able to help them secure as a 5* candidate.

2. The interview process at this level, goes both ways. 5* candidates usually already hold impressive positions that they won’t leave behind in a hurry. So, it not surprising that it can take a while for both parties to learn more about one another and our role as trusted partners and facilitators of conversations becomes even more paramount.
