Full-time Tax Manager Job Vacancy

CTA, ACA, ACCA or CA qualified, you’ll need a minimum of two years post qualification experience and to be an out-and-out tax professional with extensive personal and corporate tax advisory and tax compliance knowledge.

Acting in a compliance and advisory capacity, you’ll be part of the corporate tax team conducting corporate tax compliance work for a portfolio of corporate clients. You will ideally be able to demonstrate knowledge of company restructures, R & D tax credits, controlled foreign businesses or capital allowances.

You’ll need to be an excellent communicator and networker, adept at fostering strong and productive relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Motivated and with a can-do attitude, you’ll be a self-starter who works well alone or as part of a team.

Job Purpose

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and personal clients in a wide variety of tax specific areas — developing relationships and striving for customer service excellence.
  • Leading with the delivery of tax projects, including R & D tax credits, M & A, restructures and demergers and capital allowance relief.
  • Work alongside the Tax Partner to seek opportunities (maximising income) and innovate for clients by tax planning and adding value.
  • Be the first point of contact for your portfolio of clients, offering advice, whether reactive or proactive as required — getting to know their business challenges and opportunities.
  • Liaise with HMRC on any queries or investigations as required.
  • Seek to identify tax planning opportunities as part of the review process.
  • Preparation of reports and proposals, including liaising with other teams.
  • Work as part of the management team to ensure workloads and deadlines are managed effectively.
  • Monitor, mentor, and review team members’ work and performance.
  • Management of WIP, billing and debtors within your portfolio.

Job Requirements

  • CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA qualified with demonstrable experience working within personal and corporate taxation and tax compliance.
  • Two years post-qualification experience in tax compliance or a tax advisory position.
  • Excellent and effective communication skills and the ability to provide proactive advice to clients in written and verbal formats.
  • An inspirational team player and leader that encourages and motivates others.
  • A can-do attitude to problem-solving with the ability to think on your feet.
