This Trainee Tax Assistant job in Coventry is suitable for an AAT/ATT part qualified accountant with a minimum of 12 months' years’ experience of working in a busy Accountancy Practice environment. It presents an ideal opportunity to join a high-profile West Midlands based practice with a proactive approach, and to gain full specialist training to progress into a more senior Tax role.
The Tax Junior job involves working with clients in Coventry, Solihull and the wider West Midlands Region. You will be taking care of both Corporate and Personal Tax affairs for Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited companies, with the bias being towards Personal Tax. Our client, an employee – focused Coventry Accountancy firm will support the successful Tax Assistant in gaining their AAT qualification and fulfilling their potential.

The service offering includes Business growth advisory as well as the more traditional Audit, Tax and Accountancy services.
The main responsibilities for this Tax Junior job include:
• Assisting the Tax Manager with the completion of Self-Assessment Tax Returns
• Completion of P11D forms
• Dealing with PAYE enquiries
• Liaison with HMRC
• Liaison with clients both on the phone and face to face (with support initially)
• Study towards the ATT qualification
To be successful in this role you will ideally need some basic experience of both corporate and personal tax computations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and hard working with the ability to self-review. You should have effective communication skills (both written and verbal), and will also need to be highly IT literate (knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook essential).
