Tax Trainee

Trainee Tax Accountant jobs are found within accountancy firms otherwise known as public practices.

As a Trainee Tax Accountant, you will undertake either personal tax or corporate tax work or a mixture of both taxes otherwise known as a mixed tax. The tax work that you undertake will either be tax compliance or tax advisory work or a mixture of both.

As a Trainee Tax Accountant, you are likely to study towards your CTA (Chartered Tax Accountant) exams or ATT (Association of Tax Technicians) exams. Your studies will in many cases be paid for by the accountancy firm you work for however this is likely to be as part of a training contract.  Your accountancy firm is likely to attach conditions to your training contract which could be in relation to costs incurred by the accountancy firm should you leave their employment within a period of time, costs of examinations should you require resits and how you will study towards your exams.

Trainee Tax Accountants often progress to become Senior Tax Accountants, Tax Managers and even Tax Partners and Tax Directors.
