Tax Semi-Senior job in Southend-on-Sea.
Our superb Southend-based accountancy firm client is looking for a talented Tax Semi-Senior to join their progressive tax team.
Working alongside a Tax Senior Accountant and reporting directly to the Tax Manager, the successful Tax Semi Senior Accountant will be exposed to a wide and diverse client base, across a multitude of sectors and business entities, from Southend and across the whole of Essex.
The responsibilities of the Tax Semi Senior will include:
- Supporting the Tax Manager with the annual compliance cycle, comprising personal tax returns, P11d’s, ATED returns etc
- Supporting Tax Partners and Tax Managers with the delivery of technical advice and identification of tax planning opportunities for clients
- Working closely with the Regional Tax Partner, where required, on the provision of advice on all areas of taxation, including Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax, Trusts, Corporate restructuring, share schemes
- Support wider offices and staff with technical issues
- Undertake reviews of personal tax returns and associated compliance work for junior members of staff
- Regularly attend meetings with potential new clients and seek to convert opportunities.
- Building relationships with professional contacts and intermediaries to assist with local business development
- Attending networking events to build own profile and promote the firm
- Explaining technical matters to clients in a clear and concise manner
The perfect Tax Semi-Senior will be ATT qualified with strong technical, communication and team-working skills. Experience of working in the tax department within general practice is also highly desirable.
