Tax Partner Designate

Tax Partner Designates are tax accountants who have been identified as a potential Tax Partner within their accountancy firm.

A Tax Partner Designate is likely to be working along a defined pathway to become a Tax Partner with objectives and KPIs they will need to achieve along the pathway.  Usually, a Tax Partner Designate will be mentored by an existing Partner or Tax Partner.

Typically a Tax Partner Designate will be CTA qualified or ACA/ACCA qualified with several years tax experience behind them, this experience could be tax compliance or tax advisory or even a mix of both.

Tax Partner Designates will often have a team of tax accountants reporting into them, these are likely to be Tax Managers, Tax Seniors, Tax Semi Semi Seniors and Tax Juniors.  The tax work undertaken by the team will be either personal tax advisory, personal tax compliance, corporate tax advisory or corporate tax compliance or a mixture of all or some of these areas.

The Tax Partner Designate is likely to be involved in training and mentoring the tax team and supporting the wider accountancy firm in tax matters.

Tax Partner Designates are also likely to be involved in meeting both existing and potential new clients of their accountancy firm. Like many managerial roles within accountancy firms networking and business development can often be a requirement of the job.
