We’re working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Cardiff to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant for their growing accounts team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and career-focused individual who has a solid grounding in accounts preparation and tax, and is ready to progress into a more involved and client-facing role. You’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of clients and industries, work alongside experienced professionals, and receive full support for your professional studies.

Whether you’re AAT qualified or actively working toward ACA or ACCA, this role offers clear progression and the opportunity to grow in a supportive, dynamic environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing year-end accounts and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

  • Completing bookkeeping tasks and assisting clients with day-to-day financial queries

  • Supporting junior and trainee team members where appropriate

  • Assisting in the planning, budgeting, and delivery of client assignments

  • Maintaining strong client relationships and handling routine communications

  • Applying analytical review techniques to ensure technical accuracy and consistency

  • Using cloud accounting software to streamline processes and support clients

  • Staying informed of relevant accounting and tax legislation and system updates

What We’re Looking For

  • AAT Level 4 qualified and/or actively studying toward ACA or ACCA

  • Previous experience working in a UK accountancy practice

  • Competence in preparing accounts for a range of small to medium-sized businesses

  • Good working knowledge of bookkeeping and cloud accounting tools (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)

  • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in liaising with clients

  • A team player who takes pride in their work and supports others
