Partner Designate Jobs
Partner Designates jobs in accountancy firms, otherwise known as public practices, are ACA; ACCA or CA qualified accountants who have been identified as a future Partner within the firm of accountants they work.
Partner Designate jobs usually have a significant role in an accountancy firm which would include the management of a client portfolio and the management of a team of accountants who are invariably ACA; ACCA or CA qualified or part-qualified.
Besides their managerial duties a Partner Designate could be expected to play a role in the promotion of their accountancy firms services to both existing and potential clients within the local area. To that end business development to some level is almost becoming a pre-requisite for any Partner Designate.
Some Partner Designates actively engage in business development and welcome the opportunity to network within their local business community. Others prefer a more low-key approach and like to keep business development limited to providing tailored solutions for existing clients.
Partner Designate jobs could also be involved in the strategic planning of their accountancy firm and are likely to sit on some or all the Partners meetings.
A Partner Designate job is likely to work on an agreed plan, with a specific Partner, towards salaried Partnership. This plan could potentially last a couple of years with regular reviews along the way to monitor performance.
In many cases Partner Designate is not a used job title within an accountancy firm and often simply indicates an employee has been identified as a future Partner. To that end a Partner Designates actual job title could be; Senior Accountant, Accounts Manager, Audit and Accounts Manager, Client Manager, Associate or something specific to the accountancy firm where they work.
Depending on the structure of an accountancy firm a Partner Designate could be the first point of contact for a client portfolio which invariably provides a huge variety in the work they undertake.
At Public Practice Recruitment Ltd we work with accountancy firms of all sizes UK-wide to assist them in the recruitment of Partner Designates.
