Senior Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a modern and expanding accountancy practice in Reading. You’ll enjoy a varied workload across accounts, tax, and business advisory, working closely with clients across a range of industries.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll take responsibility for managing your own portfolio of clients while supporting junior staff and contributing to the firm’s continued growth. You’ll be trusted to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting and advice, ensuring clients receive the highest level of service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and VAT returns.
- Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by junior team members.
- Preparing management accounts and providing clients with financial insights.
- Acting as the main point of contact for your clients, maintaining strong working relationships.
- Providing proactive advice on accounting and tax matters.
- Liaising with HMRC and other external stakeholders.
- Supporting managers and partners on advisory and planning projects.
- Assisting with staff training and development within the team.
