The Role
As Audit Director, you’ll take a leading position within the audit division, combining technical delivery with strategic and commercial leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading complex audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, from scale-ups to established mid-market companies
- Acting as a senior advisor to clients, providing commercial insight and strategic recommendations
- Overseeing technical quality, workflow management, and audit methodology improvements
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing managers, seniors, and trainees across the audit team
- Supporting business development through networking, tendering, and relationship-building
- Contributing to the long-term audit strategy and collaborating closely with senior leadership
- Ensuring the audit function meets regulatory requirements and quality control standards
- Developing strong internal and external professional relationships to support the firm’s growth

About You
You’ll be a confident, commercially minded, and technically strong audit professional with proven leadership capability.
You will:
- Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification practice experience
- Have significant experience managing large or complex audit engagements
- Possess deep technical knowledge of FRS 102, ISA requirements, and audit regulation
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, coaching, and team-management skills
- Be a strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Have a commercial mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities
- Be highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Bring ambition, professional credibility, and a desire to contribute strategically to the firm
