The Role

As Audit Director, you’ll take a leading position within the audit division, combining technical delivery with strategic and commercial leadership.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading complex audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, from scale-ups to established mid-market companies
  • Acting as a senior advisor to clients, providing commercial insight and strategic recommendations
  • Overseeing technical quality, workflow management, and audit methodology improvements
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing managers, seniors, and trainees across the audit team
  • Supporting business development through networking, tendering, and relationship-building
  • Contributing to the long-term audit strategy and collaborating closely with senior leadership
  • Ensuring the audit function meets regulatory requirements and quality control standards
  • Developing strong internal and external professional relationships to support the firm’s growth

About You

You’ll be a confident, commercially minded, and technically strong audit professional with proven leadership capability.

You will:

  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification practice experience
  • Have significant experience managing large or complex audit engagements
  • Possess deep technical knowledge of FRS 102, ISA requirements, and audit regulation
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, coaching, and team-management skills
  • Be a strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Have a commercial mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities
  • Be highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
  • Bring ambition, professional credibility, and a desire to contribute strategically to the firm

This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Audit Manager or existing Director seeking progression in a larger, more dynamic environment.
