Corporate Tax Assistant Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join a growing and highly regarded accountancy practice in Newcastle. You’ll manage a portfolio of varied and interesting clients, support complex tax projects, and develop your leadership skills in a supportive, professional environment.
The Role
As Corporate Tax Assistant Manager, you’ll play an important role in managing both compliance and advisory assignments for a diverse range of clients. You’ll work closely with Tax Managers and Partners, contributing to strategic tax planning projects while supporting and mentoring more junior colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the delivery of corporate tax compliance services for a portfolio of clients
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
- Assisting with a range of tax advisory work including group restructuring, R&D claims, capital allowances, and corporate reorganisations
- Liaising with clients and HMRC on technical queries and correspondence
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor
- Supervising and supporting junior members of the tax team
- Identifying opportunities to add value and improve tax efficiency for clients
- Supporting senior colleagues in winning new work and developing the firm’s corporate tax offering
- Keeping up to date with legislative changes and emerging tax issues
