Assistant Client Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Client Manager to join a highly respected and forward-thinking accountancy practice in London. You’ll play a key role in managing client relationships, supporting senior managers and partners, and helping to deliver high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services.
The Role
As Assistant Client Manager, you’ll work closely with a portfolio of clients, providing hands-on support across compliance, advisory, and planning work. You’ll help oversee projects, review work prepared by junior staff, and act as a trusted point of contact for clients.
- Supporting the management of a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements for limited companies, LLPs, and partnerships
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and VAT returns
- Managing workflow and deadlines to ensure client projects are delivered efficiently
- Reviewing and mentoring the work of junior team members
- Liaising directly with clients, answering technical and commercial queries
- Supporting managers and partners with advisory work and business development
About You
You’re a driven and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with clients and contributing to a collaborative team.
You will:
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
- Have at least 3–4 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Possess a strong technical understanding of accounting and tax principles
- Be confident in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and tax computations
- Have excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Be comfortable managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
- Demonstrate a proactive, professional approach with strong attention to detail
- Be experienced in using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or CCH
