It’s not often that we devote a page on our blog to tell you about particular roles that we are recruiting into.
But though many of our clients offer enhanced flexibility and the chance to work on a hybrid basis, a 100% remote working role is a rare diamond, so we’ve showed up here to shout from the rooftops about it.
There’s a million and one reasons why remote working might suit you as a talented tax accountant. And for lots of employers, there’s a million and one reasons why they just can’t offer that – and we understand that.
But when we meet a truly contemporary employer who has embraced technology 100% and come up with an operational strategy that caters for all, we’re usually not short of candidates to put forward. And that’s why we’re letting you know about this job asap as you won’t want to hang around in getting your application in.
What’s more, the option to work in a way that works for you (100% remote, hybrid, in office) isn’t the only amazing perk that’s on offer with this role. It also offers all the usual statutory benefits plus a whopping 33 days of annual leave! No… that’s not a typo!
So, we’re certain we will have got the attention of many of you.
But, now lets’ talk about the kind of accountant that this exceptional employer is hoping to offer these rewards to…
There’s a key focus to this role. VAT – we’re searching for someone who lives and breathes VAT (professionally of course – it’s probably not the best topic to cover on a date or around the Sunday lunch table!)
You’ll be a dab hand at preparing and filing VAT returns, solving complex queries, reconciliations, adjustments, managing deadlines, workflow and reviewing the VAT work of junior colleagues. You’ll also be familiar with management accounting.
And that’s really the nuts and bolts of this job. But this firm also adopt a firm set of values and a culture based on trust and respect so they will be looking to find a new team member who fits in with their existing team, is a personable and friendly colleague, a kind and decisive supervisor and someone who their clients will enjoy working with and who offers exceptional levels of service.
As for qualifications; if you have ACCA, ACA, ATT or even CTA that’s great. But if you don’t, that’s no biggy. It’s the technical knowledge and experience that can only be garnered through UK VAT experience that is a non negotiable. You need to know your stuff. It’s as simple as that.
‘We know that this role is likely to be attractive to a great many VAT specialists in the UK. It comes with some rare and exciting rewards that we’re certain will be really attractive to lots of accountants out there. So, if you’re thinking about finding out more, or you want to ensure that your application is amongst the top of the pile, you won’t want to hang about! My team and I are on standby waiting to hear from you and as always, we manage your interest and application in absolute confidence.’
