Business Development Manager Job working in a West Midlands accountancy firm. 

This is the ideal opportunity to work with an established and fast-growing multi-office accountancy firm within the Midlands region in a Business Development capacity. The successful candidate will be based mainly in Birmingham with occasional travel to other Midlands based offices. This is a high-profile role within the firm working directly with the Directors and Partners to generate additional clients and fee income for the firm. 

The Business Development Manager Job will entail building relationships with Corporate and SME businesses across the Region, communicating with Business Owners and Finance Directors directly to generate appointments for the Partners and Directors. The BD Manager will utilise routes to market including email, cold calls, and social selling to create suitable leads against set qualifying criteria. Whilst this is predominantly a new business role it will involve some account management. 

We are seeking individuals with experience of selling in a B2B environment with a highly consultative approach, the ability to communicate confidently with C-Suite decision makers and a good grasp of how to manage multiple sales cycles over prolonged periods. The ideal candidate will have worked in a BD role within a similar environment either in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or Legal, and have an understanding of commercial business. 

The Business Development Manager Job will include;

·         Assessing potential clients against qualifying criteria before making an approach

·         Building a strategy to market which will create viable 'leads' for the Partner and Directors of the firm

·         Lead generation via phone/email/social streams

·         Following up 'warm leads' via the website to ensure they are dealt with efficiently

·         Booking appointments for the Partners and Directors to meet with prospective clients 

·         Gaining feedback following appointments/meetings with potential clients and managing the sales cycle to successful close

·         Assisting with the writing of proposal documents and tenders

·         Conducting competitor analysis where required to ensure approach to market is correct

·         Liaising with existing clients to 'sell in' additional services and ensure that they are aware of the full range of services available

It is imperative that the applicants have a professional manner and appearance as they will be working in a professional services environment and communicating directly with senior decision makers. Only candidates with previous B2B experience will be considered for this role.
