We are pleased to be working with a key client to recruit for an Audit Senior job in Tamworth. The role is suitable for an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant with a number of years’ experience of working in a public practice accountancy firm.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountancy professional with practice experience to join a forward-thinking firm at an exciting time in its development. The company provides business advisory, financial management and tax services to a wide range of clients across the UK. Based out of their Tamworth office and reporting to the Account /Audit Manager, your role would entail providing a high-quality accounting and audit service to a portfolio of clients. 

You will be responsible for the preparation of year-end accounts as well as planning and completing the auditing of statutory accounts. You would also be involved in some corporation tax compliance work, preparing computations and returns. The workload will be split roughly 70% Audit and 30% Accounts and you will gain access to some highly desirable Corporate Audit clients. 

Key responsibilities include;

• Taking managerial responsibility for a team of Audit staff both in the field and in the office
• Attending post audit client meetings
• Assisting with the planning & completion of audits for a wide and varied client portfolio

The ideal candidate for the role will either be AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified/part-qualified, or qualified by experience, with practical hands-on accounting and auditing experience within a practice. You might currently be working for a smaller regional practice seeking an opportunity to develop your experience and skillset. You must have experience managing the accounts of a portfolio of clients. 

You will be a well organised individual, able to multitask and prioritise a workload effectively, with strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail. This is a client-facing role so excellent communication skill and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels will be required. You will need to have had a reasonable amount of Audit exposure and be comfortable planning and leading audits.
