Typically reporting into an Audit Partner, the Audit Client Manager will act as a conduit between the audit team, Audit Partner and audit client.  To that end the Audit Client Managers role will encompass technical audit work, management of audit accountants and working directly with the audit client.

Being ACA, ACCA or CA qualified an Audit Client Manager will be highly experienced in both the planning and completion of external audits and will invariably have many years external audit experience gained within public practice accountancy firms.

The Audit Client Manager’s job holds a considerable amount of responsibility as an external auditor performs an audit, in accordance with specific laws or rules, of the financial statements of a company, government entity, other legal entity, or organization, and is independent of the entity being audited. Users of these entities’ financial information, such as investors, government agencies, and the general public, rely on the external auditor to present an unbiased and independent audit report.

The Audit Client Managers team is likely to consist of Audit Seniors, Audit and Accounts Senior Accountants, Audit Semi Seniors and Audit Trainees/Audit Juniors. Some of the audit team are likely to be ACCA, ACA or CA qualified with the others being part ACCA, ACA or CA qualified and studying towards their professional accountancy exams.

Overseeing the training and development of the audit team is another responsibility of the Audit Senior Manager in conjunction with Human Resources, if applicable, and the accountancy firms Partners.
