This Audit and Accounts Senior job in Shrewsbury is suitable for an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant working in a public practice accountancy firm. An ideal opportunity for an Audit or Accounts Senior who would like to gain access to a diverse client base and an interesting mix of work. The work will be roughly 70% audit biased with some more general Accounting work, with the focus very much on working with the Academies sector and developing the firms Academies offering across the Shropshire and West Midlands area.
The role will involve working closely with the senior Management Team in order to grow and develop the firms offering in relation to the Academies sector and additionally working with a selection of Not for Profit clients. The successful candidate will need to have strong experience in this sector.

The practice specialises particularly in advising entrepreneurs and owner managed businesses, with the addition of a central audit team delivering to entities up to £100m turnover. The Audit Senior Job will involve managing a portfolio of clients in the Academies and Not for Profit sector, leading a team of more junior audit staff in the field and managing the whole audit process. You will be meeting with clients, attending meetings, writing reports and controlling the WIP in this department. You will have the opportunity to operate quite autonomously and contribute to shaping the service offering in relation to Academies & Schools. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in the sector, who enjoys client contact and pitching for new work.
The perfect Audit & Accounts Senior will ACCA/ACA qualified with a number of years' experience of working within a busy public practice accountancy firm. The work will be fairly evenly split between Audit and Accounts, but the successful candidate will need the confidence and experience to enable them to lead on Audits.
