We are pleased to be working with a key client to recruit for an Audit and Accounts Semi Senior for their Cheltenham office within a prestigious UK wide accountancy firm. The role is suitable for an ACCA/ACA qualified (or finalist) accountant looking to join a high-profile Top 20 accountancy firm with multiple career paths. The ideal candidate will reside within an hours' travel distance of Cheltenham and have a minimum of 18 months Audit experience within a practice based environment.

This award winning top tier firm of chartered accountants support a wide range of clients from a network of offices around the UK. The firm is renowned for its audit work and is looking to strengthen and expand its current audit team to increase its delivery capacity. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a part qualified accountancy professional with practice based audit experience to join a forward-thinking firm at an exciting time in its development. Based out of their Cheltenham office and reporting to the Audit & Accounts Manager, your role would entail providing a high-quality compliance service to a wide-ranging portfolio of clients spanning Gloucestershire and beyond. Although there will be some accounts exposure, mostly the role will be audit focused. 

Key responsibilities include; 

* Assisting with the planning & completion of audits for a wide and varied client portfolio including SME's and larger enterprises 
* Managing deadlines and workload 
* Year-end accounts work 
* Corporate Tax returns 
* Mentoring and supporting a team of more Junior accountants 
* Client communication via both phone and email, including the writing of reports 

The ideal candidate for the role will either be ACA/ACCA part qualified, or suitably qualified by experience, with recent practical 'hands-on' audit experience gained within a practice environment. You might currently be working for a smaller regional practice seeking an opportunity to develop your experience and skill set, or a Semi Senior with lots of experience looking for that next step. 

You will be a well organised individual, able to multitask and prioritise a workload effectively, with strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail. This is a client-facing role so excellent communication skill and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels will be required. You will need to have had a reasonable amount of Audit exposure and be comfortable planning and leading audits.
